Publish to PDF

Publish to PDF

I've been trying to use the Publish to PDF feature for the first time, but
all that happens is that the document prints out. WP goes through the saving
to PDF process, but then nothing is saved and printing begins even though I
haven't clicked on printing. I'm using Windows XP, SP2 with WP11 fully
patched. I did some searching online first, and unchecked the text and font
options. Actually, I only unchecked one of the last three of these and then
all three were grayed out. The last two are checked but grayed (Convert True
Type Font to Type 1 and Subset Fonts). I have WP set to save PDF for the
web. I have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 8 installed, although it seems that
WP will only save to version 3 or 4. However, I can't get it to save to any
version at this point!

Andrea,

You could try a different PDF creation process. There are several, but
the one I use is PDF995 (freeware with ads, or $9.95 without ads;
available from PDF995.com).

This installs a virtual printer, in your list of available printers. In
WPWin, do File, Print and select the PDF995 virtual printer. My
experience is that the PDF995 printer has very few bugs, unlike the
WordPerfect version. It also works with all applications with a print
function.

FWIW: I have 11.0.0.410 and PDF works as expected. As Charles's post implies,
third party apps sometimes do better.

Thanks. That program's a gem! It took a little work to configure it, but now
it's working fine with both WP and MS Word.

Andrea,

Good news. Thanks for the update.
