I am trying to search a folder of WP documents using WP 11.0.0.410 for the
following string: "AUDTAXCALC77" and it does not find any documents
containing that string, yet I know that one of the documents does contain
that string. There are other strings that are in the document, but it won't
find when I search for those strings either. I verified that the Match Case
checkbox was not checked, so it is not an upper/lower case issue.
BTW, I cannot find that document using Quickfinder or the Windows Explorer
Search tool, either.
I tried the method of creating a new document, typing an "X" and
pasting the
other document into the new document, deleting the "X" and saving, but
this
did not help either.
Any clues?

I found that if I added the same text closer to the beginning of the file,
it would find the file using WP File/Open, but not find it using the Windows
Explorer search tool ????
I narrowed it down to a Para Style code followed immediately by a Highlight
code. If I removed either code, the search would work within WP.
It seems like anything before that code combination would be searchable, but
anything after would not. I did not test this thoroughly, though....

This problem needs to be escalated to WP. We have hundreds of documents
using highlighting and paragraph styles, and we need to have a reliable
search capability. How do I get this in the hands of WP developers?
Perhaps this problem does not exist on newer versions of WP ( we are using
WP 11.0.0.410). If so, that would be reason enough for us to move to the
newer version. Can someone test this on a newer version for me? I can send
a small wpd file with the codes that cause the problem...........
