For some reason, whenever I close WordPerfect 12, it wants to shut down my
computer. I am using Windows XP Professional (SP2).
Does anyone know what might be causing this? or how to rectify the
situation?
Thanks,
Ed Wood

To help, please supply version of WP (from Help|About - the whole number:
x.x.x.x).
Has WP always done this?
What exact steps follow when you Close WP?

The first step when troubleshooting is to fully patch wp. See this link
for help with that if you need it.

Roy,
I am running version 12.0.0.238.
When I shut down WP I have already saved the document. I then click on the
red X in the upper right hand corner of the program.
Thanks for your response,
Ed

Kenneth,
I have installed all three service packs for my WordPerfect 12. I am now
running ver. 12.0.0.602. I still have the same problem. If I open
WordPerfect, then immediately close it, everything works fine. If I open
WordPerfect, then open a document but do not make any changes then close
WordPerfect, everything works fine.
The problem seems to come when I open a saved document, make changes, close
the document, then close WordPerfect. WordPerfect closes normally, but the
"Turn off Computer" screen appears. This is the same screen that your
get
when you click on the "Start" button, then choose the "Turn off
Computer"
option.
Something inside WordPerfect seems to be triggering the computer shutdown
routine.
Any ideas?
