| Cannot get selected fonts |

A new bug!! Suddenly, when I select a font to use, it always reverts back to
New Times Roman - with occasional exceptions: Antiquarian, Adolescence,
Arial so far; I haven't been down the entire list. But the ones I want to
use will go to NTRoman.
Really need some help on this soon. My newsletter is overdue!
Thanks. Pat

Pat,
Have you checked the Windows Font folder to verify that the font files
are still present?
Does this happen when working with just one specific document, or with many?
If it is with many, please try renaming the default template file
(usually WP12xx.WPT, where xx is your country code, such as "us") to
WP12Back.WPT. Restart WPWin12, and a new clean template file will be
created. If this solves the problem, the FAQ at
http://www.wpuniverse.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18046
on Saving and Restoring Customisations should help you recover
personalisations of menu, keyboard, toolbar, styles, etc.
Of course, if it does not help, rename WP12Back.wpt back to its original
name, over-writing the newly created default template file.

Thanks so much for your help..My problem continued after many attempts - I
was putting text into a text box surrounded by a border. Set up a new
one - then different fonts than the ones I had selected showed up in the
font box. Things were apparently getting worse! Next day, I started all
over with a new document and voila! the fonts started working as they
should have in the first place. I do not have any idea why this should have
happened. I am only grateful that it cleared itself up.
Your immediate response and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Pat Scher

Pat,
I've seen that from time to time. When I worked with WP9 under Win98, I
was convinced that it was a memory problem. Now I have WP11 under Win XP
and plenty of memory, and it still happens from time to time (and
usually with the same templates as before, but not necessarily). So my
conviction of it being a memory problem has gone and my ignorance has grown.
It is a bit annoying, but not a serious problem. For me, saving the
document (even with the "wrong" font displaying, closing and reopening
it does the trick.

Thanks, Wolfgang. It is nice to know that I am not the only one with these
unusual problems!
