Selecting mutiple graphic objects

Selecting mutiple graphic objects
Tue, 8 Apr 2008 07:51:48 -0400
Occasionally I have a document with a variety of graphic objects within it.
And of may want to move more than one of them to a new location.

Is there a way to select more than one object to do the moves
simultaneously?

When the objects are working together, and have a spatial realtionship that
must be preserved, it would be helpful to move groups together.

Thanks Roy,

For some reason I sort of remembered that CTRL+CLICK was the way I had done
this in other programs, so that's what I tried.

But now that I think of it, the Shift key is what I use in Photoshop to add
to a selection.

I didn't even think of going to the Shift key - oh well an occasional senior
moment has to happen I guess. <G>

After all, I may well be the elder in using this group.

CTRL+CLICK is of course the way one selects multiple files in a file
manager, such as Windows Explorer, or any other manager.

Perhaps not. I'm 64. Move over, kid <g>

I tried both SHIFT+CLICK and CTRL+CLICK, on graphics in a WP file, and
neither worked as I'm used to.

CTRL+CLICK is normally a way to add material, CTRL+CLICK by CTRL+CLICK,
to the selected material you already have, either in a file manager or
in WP's directory system or in fact in a document. So you can end up
with multiple, unconnected items selected.

SHIFT+CLICK adds everything between the original selection operation and
the place where you SHIFT+CLICK, again in most apps and situations
AFAIK. This results in _a contiguous block_ of selected stuff. And, as
Roy suggested, it wouldn't have been a surprise if it worked to select
multiple graphics. Howsomever, I wasn't able to get either to work in a
WP file just now. Wonder why?
