WP Mail has suddenly started crashing. I'm running Office X3 with latest SP
on Windows XP Pro SP2.
It crashes with the following error in the event log: Faulting application
wpmail.exe, version 2.0.4.174, faulting module wpmail.exe, version
2.0.4.174, fault address 0x004c9b60.
I followed the steps to rebuild the datastore, rename various files and
finally rename the WordPerfect Mail folder. Nothing helps. It keeps
reporting that it encountered an error.
Thanks.

I can't recall if I had the _same_ problem, but some time ago I found
WP Mail could no longer be used, due to a failure which even survived
complete restoration of my C: drive, and I moved to Outlook Express, an
application I had avoided for many years because of its popularity as
a target for viruses and other attacks.
Lo and behold, I found my mail was now arriving much faster than with
WP Mail, and Zone Alarm began sorting out my junk and phishing mail
in collaboration with Outlook Express, quite efficiently.
Another, lesser, up side: Outlook Express doesn't share
WP Mail's peculiar way of handling Sent messages (WPM keeps them
in the Sent folder despite attempts to move them to the addressees'
folders). The down sides: Outlook Express has a different
way of counting messages in folders, counting only the unread ones
(I'd had WP Mail count all messages in all folders and found this useful
in managing my messages); and I'm now placing a great deal of
reliance on Zone Alarm and Microsoft's patches to fend off attacks.
All in all, I'm glad I made the move.

Hi Anthony,
Thanks. How can I import the WPMail datastore into Outlook Express? Do I
need to be able to open WP Mail to do this or is there a conversion program
available?
Thanks.

That I don't know. Since I couldn't run WP Mail, I bit the bullet and let
Outlook
Express re-receive the mail still retained by my ISP. I still have the WP
Mail
store around, and haven't looked into whether there is a conversion facility
available.

Hey if anyone comes up with a way to make Word Perfect Mail a stable and
usable product let please post!
I like the program - when I can get it to operate; but have not have the
time to mess with it in quite some time to get it working.
