This has been discussed here before. See a thread started on 3-18 by
Keith Rosenberg.

An earlier thread by Keith on 4-27-07 addresses this issue. Several in
between. Seems an issue of WPX3, Vista, and Outlook 2007, (the last two
that thankfully I do not use.)

WP X3 crashing

When I close the last open document in WP X3 the program ALWAYS crashes. It
will always come right back up when I restart it - no worse for the wear,
but it is an annoying problem.

I'm using WP X3, SP2 on Vista Ultimate. I have been using it for quite some
time and either this problem just started or for some reason I didn't notice
it.

It even happens if I only have the blank, new empty document open at start
up and try to close it. And again, it only happens when I close the last
document, no matter how many I have had open.

Has anyone seen or heard of this problem before?

(FYI - I have a new powerhouse Dell XPS M1530 laptop with 2.6 Ghz Duo Core
Intel CPU and 4Gb RAM and 60Gb free on a 200Gb, 7200 RPM HD - so the problem
is almost certainly not system-related.)

Thanks!

Thanks.

I just tested it and can confirm that it is being caused by Outlook 2007.

What in the world could these two programs have to do with each other to
cause such strange behavior in WP?

Seems like every other day I find yet another reason to "love" MS.
(This
makes two of them today - the other was connecting to a Linux Samba share
with Vista - which we finally solved). Argh.
