changing default tab settings

Using X3. I want to change the default tab settings for all documents. 
How do I make that change?

You will have to add a code to your default document style. There are 
several ways to do this. I would suggest this one:

In a blank document, open Reveal Codes (Alt+F3). Double-click on the 
only code, set your tab stops in the style codes window as you would do 
it in a document, make sure that "Use as default" is checked and OK
out.
