| one new Outline problem |

for Level 4 in my user defined Outline style I created I use:
a., b., c., d., ...
The problem is that the spacing following the various letter differs.
After a. there is only one space. After the b. there is 3. After the c.
there is another number of spaces, etc.
I would rather there be two spaces after each letter or the outline appears
uneven. Is there a way to force this spacing?
Thanks,

The outline spacing depends on the tab settings. Click on View and turn
on the ruler to see how your tab stops are set. If they change position
as you move down the Level 4 lines, then you can clear them, move your
cursor to the top of the page (or where ever you want them to start
being uniform), and then set the tabs to your desired spacing.

Hello Brent,
I think I see what you mean. One additional question here is if I have a
long outline already, with 12 pages of outline going from Levels 1 through
Levels 9, is there a way to do this adjustment from the top of the first
page all at once, so I don't have to do it more than once as I go down the
document?
Thanks, Tom

Save the document first under another name, just in case . . . . Then
select the whole outline--all 12 pages--and clear the tabs. You can
then set the tabs however you want them at the top of the outline and it
will reset them for the whole outline.
