There are a few lurkers, me being one. But traffic has been
basically non-existent for a few months.

Javucho:

Check the thread just before this one. I posted that, and I was
impressed by the number of responses that I got. There are a lot of us
that still watch this newsgroup, but as WordPerfect for Linux is a dead
product, there is little traffic here with regard to WP Linux.

Frank.

Well, it's still in the works, but I am working on a way to run WP8 and
WPO2KL in incompatible Linuces. The basis is installing WP8/WPO2KL in a
minimal but compatible Linux, then mount it and chroot from a hostile
Linux, e.g. Fedora core 6.

Leon, your dedication is admirable! It makes no sense logically, but I
surmise you love the challenge. :-)

I don't know what the WP problems are with SuSE, but I'll pass on this
observation FWIW. SuSE 10.2 is the fastest major distribution I've found
yet. I have a dual boot laptop with WinXP and I've recently put this new
SuSE on the Linux partition, just to play with it. Firefox, OpenOffice,
and Thunderbird all open faster on SuSE than they do on WinXP, and MUCH
faster than on Xandros or Kubuntu or Freespire. They've done something
right with SuSE.
