Or get bought by them.
Xandros could be a very good acquisition.

Well, that's kinda what I meant. However I really don't see much else of
unique value with Xandros. I don't think they have market share worth
more than a couple of cases of Molsen beer, and the name is only
slightly less ugly than Ubuntu. Or maybe more ugly, as it invokes
something sinister to me, perhaps some group of organized bad guys that
James Bond should be pursuing! :-)
I know I keep mentioning names, but they are important when it comes to
selling a product. Ubuntu may be a good name to use in some third world
countries, but it has limited appeal in other areas. Xandros is just an
ugly word no matter where you say it.
This is one of the reasons that I have been tuned in to Linspire. After
the silly provocation of Microsoft with Lindows, they came up with a
really marketable and clever name. [However the provocation got them
press, and got them noticed, so maybe it wasn't so silly after all!]
Marketing is something that too many involved with Linux don't seem to
understand. Naming is one of the first considerations as names bring
forth images in ones mind. Mepis is another bad Linux name. You don't
want a name that sound like something contagious you need to see your
doctor about!
