Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply.
I am afraid that I have not tested WP on any of those distros. I even did
not know about them.
My WP 8.1 is working perfectly on a Libranet 2.8.1
I have tested it also at Ubuntu 5.10 and it worked but it I am not able to
run it on Ubuntu 6.06 which is the one I am actually using.
Have you asked Leon ? Here is the "master" of WP...
Best regards,

Sorry, I don't use Ubuntu. Like Javier, I am still using libranet 2.8.1
and will continue to use it, along with Libranet 3.0, as my "base"
system.
I did a trial install of SuSE 10.1; no problem installing old shlibs5
with YAST and then installing WP8 (the orginal WP8; haven't gotten
around to trying 8.1 or 8.2 yet).
Speaking of "weird distros" I really like the way Solaris 10 8/07 runs
on a Core 2 Dual (1.8 gHz) system; Solaris really likes to run in a
multiproc environment. One of these days I'll get around to setting up
Linux in it, but what I'd really like is to try WP8/UNIX. There was an
earlier post from someone who has a copy... (hint).

It's just sleeping.
Has anyone had any luck getting WP (either native LINUX or with
WINE/crossover) working on any weird distros? Like Wolvix
http://wolvix.org/, Frugalware http://www.frugalware.org/ or
http://www.sabayonlinux.org/ ???

Javucho:
I still keep an eye open here as well. I'm slow getting an answer to
you as we've been away.
Though I gave up on WP several years ago, I have found several
workarounds, and hopefully I can offer some suggestions to those that
may be tiring of ever seeing a newer WP for Linux.
Frank.
