Interesting, and thanks!! Does it work with Ubuntu with all usual
functions? How about Quattro Pro and Presentations? I know that the
current version of X3 has not worked well with Crossover.
Anyone know why this beta of X3 is "phoning home" or something? When
I
open it, there appears to be a constant running internet connection, at
least on a Windows machine. I have WP12 on the same WinXP machine and it
does not do that.
I'm going to try it on LinuxMint 4.0 (an Ubuntu derivative).

I was told it is checking for updates. Since it is a beta, I guess that
makes sense. I am not sure if it will time out or not.

Thanks, Dave. I sort of thought it might be an update thing, but it
never seemed to stop, even after about 10 minutes. I got worried, so I
shut it off.
I tried to install it on the latest Wine on LinuxMint, and couldnt get
past the License Acceptance screen. I haven't put Crossover on this
machine yet.

Well, I installed Crossover on my LinuxMint machine and on the first
X3ODF attempt, it errored out on the Internet Explorer requirement. I
Installed IE6, and that install went just fine. I tried X3ODF again, and
this time I got a little farther into the install, but it stopped on
some cryptic error message while it was setting up the install script.
I'll try it again on a pure Ubuntu machine.
I assume from your post subject here that you actually have X3ODF
running on Ubuntu. Any suggestions?
