Artur,

I have a notebook with a Intel Core Duo and it runs just fine. Those
chips should not cause any problems just because they have multiple
cores. If anything it helps because dBASE runs in a single thread so
when it is working long and hard on something you can still switch to
another application or user account and do useful work while you wait.

After install a lot of machines with pentium/amd , the time of install
runtime are know, but in machine with due core, the time are very larger.
The install burn time after 99% until the screem is clear and after 1 or 2
minutes, appears the next prompt is ready to continue the install. I put in
some machines with this time. I know problems with interbase and firebird,
the solution was disable the due core. I will see in the next machine is the
problem continues. We work only with SQL. Are any advantage/increase with
due core in any situation with Dbase 2.6x ?

Artur,

You know more about this than I do, so I don't know if there is anything
helpful I can add. All I can say is it works fine on my notebook with
Win XP.

dBASE is single-threaded so it will run at the same speed whether you
disable the multiple cores or not. Give that a try an see what happens.
