dQUERY error

dQUERY error
Fri, 15 Feb 2008 13:43:22 -050
When I select a SQL Server database name from the "Databases and
Tables"
combobox in dQuery, then drag a table to the design surface, I am getting
the following error messagebox:

MessageBox Title: Error Activating Temporary Database

Message: Error: Unknown database name: dQTemp1

After clicking OK, the table appears in the design surface. I do not get
this error message when I select a dBase database (folder path to dBase
tables). How can I fix this?

David,

It sounds like you are missing a BDE Alias. My dQueryTemp alias points
here:

c:\program files\dbase\Plus\Bin\dBLCore\temp

You could reinstall your software or just recreate this alias manually
in the BDE Admin.

In the BDE I have an entry named dQueryTemp that points to c:\program
files\dbase\Plus\Bin\dBLCore\temp. I have no problem when adding a dBase
table with a database alias to the design surface; but the error occurs when
adding a SQL table to the surface.

David,

I don't have a problem adding Firebird tables to the design surface and
I don't have that BDE Alias. Perhaps you can just make it and point it
to the same place as dQueryTemp. Alternatively, you could reinstall the
software.
