Popup and uppercase-letters

In my Popup-Menus the first letter is changed to a uppercase-letter and 
all other letters are changed to lowercase. Horrible!
This is forcing me to find strange and poorly fitting names for my 
popup-items, otherwise my clients will suspect me to be responsible for 
such misspellings.
I know I posted this already some years ago but now I cannot find it.

I cannot find any existing bug report about this.
Can you provide a form and popup menu that illustrates the problem?
