Third-Party Tools newsgroup?

Third-Party Tools newsgroup?
Thu, 17 Apr 2008 07:59:48 -070
Anyone read third-party tools?

Anyone hav a resource tool (for working on .DLLs, and such) that would
be useful? This is a message I posted yesterday:

Okay, working with Resource Hacker, I've run into a problem ... to date,
it's been great, but the new Icon (.ico) files from InCors (see previous
message about Icons) are causing some problems, in that Resource Hacker
(last worked on in 2002, I guess), does not handle the number of sizes
of images required for Vista.

It still works great for the bitmap images, but it's not working for icons.

SO, does anyone know of a resource editor that is:

* free
* handles Vista type icons
* is easy to use (for those of us who are not real sophisticated when it
comes to dealing with resource files ...)

??

At this point, all I really need to do is add the new versions of the
icons that I've been using, and my resource file for my own applications
will be fine ... (well, perhaps add a few more images).

Thanks -- Ken

D'oh. I vaguely remember reading that, too ... thanks. (sigh)

You could try http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/delphi.ht

Look For ResourceExplorer

It is free, I do not know if it handles Vista type icons, but I was able to use
it to modify
Plus_EN.dll, so as to change the row hint in a grid from the English 'nnn of
nnn' to the Danish 'nnn
af nnn'.
