Repair,rebuild, re-write

I have been fighting this conversion from VDB to DB2KPlus

I am wondering if it would be possible to repair the errors in the old program
rather than convert.

Some of the errors are: dates in some records are in correct
                                 Trouble with historical info
some updating errors occur when running end of
day reports

Hi Jim,
I would think that most things could be fixed in VDB, but I would reccomend
investing the time and effort to convert to the most recent version.
There are many advantages and once you learn it many things come together
faster and easier than with VDB.

You can get lots of help here in this newsgroup.

It sounds like the problems that you are having with VDB are not related to
VDB bugs, they sound more like program & design errors.

With the new advances in the computer industry and the advantages of the new
Plus version, I think it is worth pushing forward on the conversion.

Post your questions anytime.

Jim,

What Greg has said is exactly right. Post questions in the
dbase.programming news group or dbase.getting-started (if the questions
are more basic). Let us know the exact version of dBASE you are using
and the exact nature of your problems. It can be very helpful if you
include a small piece of the program code that is causing your problems
as well as the exact wording of any error messages you encounter.

Post each problem in a separate message because that will be less
confusing once the replies start to add up.
