Visual dBASE 5.5 should work fine with Windows XP. However, you should
consider upgrading at some point to the newer, 32-bit, fully
object-oriented version, dBASE Plus ...

Ken is right. In the short-term you should get the free upgrade to 5.7.
You can get it here: http://sjc.chuvala.com/index.html
On the left he has "dBASE Stuff" and within there you will find the
upgrade.
