Newsgroup pollution

Newsgroup pollution
Tue, 6 Mar 2007 21:27:09 -0500
Hello

As I understand it, the idea of different newsgroups allows for
specialized question and answer forums. Along with this has evolved the
etiquette of posting, and the "sin" of cross-posting.

Recently, the dBASE newsgroups have suffered from spam posts to ALL of
the groups. Is there any way to stop this cross-posting? If we can't
stop the spam posts, can we at least limit them to a small number of
groups?

Thank you

We are reviewing our options on filtering.
We ARE deleting new spam daily from all or our newsgroups.
To see this you may have to redownload a newsgroup to see that the spam has
been deleted
(at least using Outlook Express).
