Hi,

I would like to know if anybody found a way to import complete custom
word lists in Vista.

Thank you.

The .netspeechsdk newsgroup is focused on the Microsoft Speech Server
product.

For Vista, the appropriate newsgroup is microsoft.public.speech.desktop.

How many words do you want to add?

There are several ways to get new words into the speech recognition system
in Vista.

The easiest is document harvesting. If you enable this, we'll harvest your
emails and Word documents, and learn new words from them. Personally, I
rarely find that I want to dictate a word the engine doesn't already know
about. This is also the most accurate way because the engine can learn the
context in which the word was used.

You can add words individually through the speech dictionary (say "Open
speech dictionary").

You can add words through the correction dialog.

Programmatically, SAPI has interfaces that allow you to add words to the
"user lexicon", and these will be imported into the dictation system.
