No, i didnt. I already had the Sam Voice shipped with XP but i wanted
to have the mary and mike too. At first i installed the SDK but after
the first try to start the speech applet from the Control Center i had
to reboot the complete os since it blocked my COMPLETE os. It
was even not possible to kill the regsvr32.exe and the sapi control
process. They did not respond to my termination atempts. tried with
pskill, process explorer, process (my tool operating from kernel!), even
from there i could not terminate the process, so i had to restart complete
system and uninstall the SDK. I build a installer just installing the
runtimes
and voices from the merge modules, but same result! The Problem is
always the sapisvr.exe which makes my complete os hung. Why???
I started the applet with a debugger and it stucks inside a CreateThread
function call, nothing more to see from there since everything stops there
even external processes like the debugger itself!
My os is german xp but the shipped voice with it is microsoft bob in
english and it works fine! as far as i know the sdk is for all languages,..
Any ideas,...
