| Looking for ideas on Hardware RAID. |

Hi Folks,
I am struggling with the issue of H/W replacement, and as a keen SCSI
follower for many years, I am considering migrating from SCSI to SATA
, but as my experience with IDE to date has been one of relative
unreliability of IDE drives (compared to SCSI drives), I am thinking
of using a small RAID configuration in each PC to provide more
robustness. Performance is not my reason for RAID, reliability is.
\As such, I am interested in knowing of others have headed down this
path before. Does anyone have experience with low cost, single machine
HARDWARE based RAID solutions for SATA, that will at least work with
eCS (IE NO special driver is required)?
One such Item I have located is the Stardom SOHORAID RS2600 in a RAID
1 configuration. This is available locally (New Zealand), so does
anyone have any experience with this unit?
Thanks....................pk.

No experience with SATA RAID at all but there was at least 1 other card
that worked with the danis506.add driver. You should be able to find out
by using Google to search OS/2 newsgroups for SATA RAID.
The most complete answer would probably be supplied by Dani - as in
danis506.add & daniatapi.flt - so I suggest a polite enquiring email :-)
