| Seagate 7200.10 series SATA drive - a hint |
 |

I have a Seagate 250GB7200.10 series SATA drive but it only ran at
1.5ghz. Both the drive and the controller should support 3.0ghz and
looking at the drive manual it set to 3.0ghz by default.
Today I decided to look at the drive links and the one that forces
1.5ghz was in place. I removed it and it's now running at 3ghz. Only 5
or 6 percent improvement overall but every little helps :-)
To be honest I saw a review of a 7200.11 series drive and it said the
link was in place by default so I thought I'd have a look.

What, exactly, did you look at? Where is this information?
Thanks...
