SMP And ATI chipsets

Shame if you don't support the ATI chipsets with ACPI. I have been
playing around with A MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard and too bad you do
not have the resources to get to purchase one to get it to work as it
could be an easy one to get going as it almost runs all the way up to
the PMshell with OS2APIC.add. It does recognize 4 processors with a
Phenom 3850. With the current ACPI driver a little later that 3.09 it

I have an ATI chipset board and ATI almost works. I am looking for the
best place to post my experiences but I can tell you this much now and
you might find it helpful.
1. A cold cold boot is essential.
2. An ALT-f1 boot with hardware detection is necessary. I don't know if
the detection is that important but slowing down the boot is.
I have found waiting a bit(maybe 2 secs) before letting the PMSHELL
command get executed helped > There were many other probs but I dont
think thes is the best place. I dont know exactly which command is not

Pasha has received money to get ACPI working with the AMD chipset.
