I know that SciTech was trying to sell the SNAP driver package, but have
not heard any confirmation that it was actually done.
I usually/often click on their NewsGroup just to see if there are any
interesting comment/questions. But, the last few days, the site is not
responding at all. Likewise their www.scitechsoft.com site is also
timing out.
Just looking for confirmation that this lack of response is not my
problem. And, if there is any news of the disposition of SNAP, that
would probably be of interest to more folks than just me.

I think the current and possibly future situation is: If your graphics
chipset is supported by SNAP then great if not give the Panorama driver
available from the Betazone (Subscription Only Section) a go.
Some comment/confirmation from those in charge at eCS would be of
interest though.

Strange! I tried both, less than a couple of minutes before writing the
question. Both timed out. Of course, now they are back.
No word, though, on any sale of the SNAP technology????

The fact is, as I mentioned in another post some time ago, that if they
do not continue to develop new drivers within SNAP before they sell it,
SNAP is losing value everyday. Development of new drivers has been
stopped for a few months now, so the sale price of SNAP is mostly that
of the unified core. I do not know how much such technology could be
worth, but maybe SSI and Mensys could purchase it and give the sources
to the Panorama developers so that everything is unified and eCS users
do not get lost between many driver types (such as original
manufacturer's drivers - old Matrox cards - , simple GRADD, SDD/SNAP,
now Panorama).

This is information that I got from Scietech
We are no longer actively developing and supporting this product. We
are
in fact in the final stages of selling the technology to Alt Software,
Inc., but I am not sure what their plans will be with respect to the
OS/2 product.
Since we cannot in good faith sell you copies of SNAP Graphics for
OS/2,
I am sending you a free registration code you can use for your
purposes.
You may use this code on as many machines as you like, and it is
unlikely there will be a another OS/2 product release unless Alt
Software can be convinced to support OS/2.
