WPS wizard

The wps wizard install.cmd script completed apparently normally. The .inf
file describes how to use the setup notebook. Another .inf file shows a
picture of a wrench with lavender ribbon, identifying it as the icon for
setting up.

Where is the setup notebook? Where is the object that uses the icon?

The installation should have created a folder called "WPS-Wizard" on
your desktop. There's an object called "WPS-Wizard configuration"
inside. There should also be a shadow of the object in the system setup
folder.

Ah, ha. Thanks. I'll try reinstalling.

Reinstalled. Configuration notebook appeared. Nice bar graphs by drives
appeared. Hey, this is great! Used computer for a while doing actual
stuff. Shut down. Later started up. Went back to wps-wizard. Configuration
notebook was no longer present. Clicking on anything else hung the system.
CAD. Tried again. CAD. Uninstall.

Maybe I'll download again and try again, but these adventures in new
classes with advanced properties have reliably crashed my OS/2 and now eCS
for what I'd guess to be well over a decade now.

This sounds like your INI files are everything but squeaky clean.
checkini, cleanini, and xfix are your friends.
