bootAble and GenMac

bootAble and GenMac
Mon, 28 Jan 2008 05:41:08 GMT
I'm making bootable CD with network on some computers, and it's been
working fine. But then I make the same sort of CD on a computer that
has a network card supported by GenMac.

Now bootAble (5.0) makes a bootable CD, but the network does not
function. Has anyone made these two work together?

Last time I looked Bootable did not have support for genmac and V5 does
not mention adding it.

I think someone, Doug ?, was trying to make this work.

If anyone needs a tester for this, I have a suitable system for
testing.

I have been meaning to work on that, but other things have been
keeping me occupied. I don't think it should be too difficult, all it
really needs is HelperW.exe, the CONFIG.SYS entry for that, and the
directory structure for the win driver, supplied by GENMAC. The OS/2
parts should be handled by the bootAble support for networking
(although I am not to sure about the GENMAC specific parts in
PROTOCOL.INI etc.).

BootAble is 100% REXX, and there should be enough sample config files,
to help someone to figure out how to do the basics. Just remember,
that it does an INTERPRET on each line that you write in a config
file.
