It's probably my lack of understanding the terminal window for eCS, but I
installed the latest Lynx browser package from Hobbes on 2.0 RC4, and the
window is too wide for the screen regardless of the font size I choose.
How do I reduce the width setting down from something like 140 characters
to more like 90?

Assuming all 4 corners are outside the screen, try this:
Bring up the window list via Alt-Esc or Rmb/Lmb.
Click on the Lynx entry.
RMB, the click Cascade.
This should re-size the window to something within the screen
boundaries.

Umm, no. The corners were all visible. However, the window sports a
horizontal slider. This isn't really useful. Could it be some small
difference in the way it works in 2.0 versus 1.2? I suppose it was built
for the latter.

The above was a bit of a generic reply. I have never used Lynx.
OK, I just downloaded lynx2-8-5-dev16-os2.exe from Hobbes and
installed it.
Hmmmm. Totally out of my experience, so I can't be of any direct help.
Google may be your friend here. I found several hits looking for "Lynx
OS/2", including some articles on the SCOUG web site. You might find
an answer there.
Good Luck!

Hi,
it was quite a while since I used Lynx, but downloaded the version you
mentioned.
I don't have the problems you have, I'm using eCSRC4. I'm setting fontsize
and it works, now using 25x7 for a bigger window, 16x5 also works good.
Both give me a window without sliders, fitting inside desktop.
