I am still fighting with the annoying problem mentioned in the subject
field.
When I surf on the internet with Firefox, Mozilla or Seamonkey the WPS
freezes and there is nothing to do! The only way is rebooting the
computer...
A person suggested me to install the "Flashblock" plugin for Firefox
and
to replace the Innotek Font Engine with version 2.60 beta.
I installed Flashblock and I have been surfing for 1 hour without
problems.I just clicked on a Flash animation to watch it and I got a
system freeze. That's why I thought the problem are Flash animations!
After the reboot, I got Chekdisk of the JFS volumes, but after having
loaded the SNAP driver I got the mouse's cursor stuck on the screen.
Now it is impossible to have a working system. I think I have to reinstall
eCS again....
The eCS version is 2.0 RC1. I Had the same problem with the previous beta
and with versin 1.2. That's is the main reason why I didn't renew the
software subscription!
With such problem I can't use eCS in a proper way.
I am really considering of moving to another operating system, if I can't
solve this mistery.
Thank you in advance.

Flash can be a problem.
My Wife often finds Her system has locked up after playing Flash games
online but rarely from playing or trying to play a Flash video clip.
Ctrl-Alt-Del is usually the only answer when Her system locks.
Guess we need a more up-to-date Flash player on eCS...

That could be a case of "munged" INI files either os2.ini or
os2sys.ini
or both.
Boot to a command line and check the file sizes - you may have to use:-
attrib -r -s -h os2*.ini
in the \OS2 directory before being abe to list the files though.
If they are "munged" and you have a fairly recent system backup copy
both files from the backup.

Strange. Activating automatic Desktop Backup would make sure you always
have a recent backup for your ini files.
Restore, when these things happens, is as simple as pressing ALT-F1 at boot,
and select the backup you want to restore.
This will fix such a problem in 99% of all cases.
You really never tried that ? It exists in every eCS release.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I found such function in Desktop Properties=>Archives. I selected
"Archive
Desktop" and "At every desktop startup".
Another user suggested me the following things:
2. Opening (e)Seamonkey, then Virtual PC followed by a try to
open Mesa (a spreadsheet) would cause a repeatable freezing of
the desktop. A cold shutdown would be necessary for recovery.
I traced this to the PMMERGE.DLL file. Apparently, the
PMMERGE.DLLs from either PJ31908.ZIP or FIXPAK 5 suck on my
system.
When I reverted back to the PMMERGE.DLL from FIXPAK 4, life was
good! If you type 'orexx' to search on eComStation website, you
will find "Fixpack 4 versions of OREXX.DLL and PMMERGE.DLL".
There is an archive called FP5_UP.ZIP that you can install.
I will try that solution as well and I hope to fix the annoying problem"
