Just bought a new mother board and Ecom 2.0 rc4 will not see the sata
drive. How can I get it to read. Have DVD and CD drives on the 2
parallel ata ports.

I don't have an answer, but what do you have on the SERIAL ATA ports,

Have a Maxtor SATA 2/300 160 gb hard drive. Can access it in windows,
partioned it and formatted first partition, but ecom will not see it
at all.

Didn't you check if you bought supported hardware ?
If you manged to install RC4, you can find info here:
\ecs\DOC\DANIS506
If you did not, get Danis driver package here:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?key=danis506r18&pushbutton=Search
and read EVERYTHING in it, how to request support for unsupported hardware.

SATA2 drives should work - providing the SATA2 controller on the
mainboard is supported.
What SATA controllers are involved and have you checked they are
supported? - read danis506.doc
