After install of RC4 I'm having problems with the tar version supplied (I
never had before). When I try to view tar.gz files with Arcview I
encounter:
tar: skipping to next header
tar: Error exit delayed from previouos errors
In other OSses these tar.gz files are read properly. When I use tar.exe
from the moztools utilities to build mozilla the same archives are also
properly unpacked.
And another problem with regard to archives and RC4:
When I want to open tar.bz2 files with Arcview I see
tar: unrecognized option `--zip=bzip2'
Try `tar --help' or `tar --usage' for more information.
The problem with tar.bz2 files I see whatever tar (RC4 or moztools)
version I use.
As said before I cannot remember up to RC3 to having problems with tar or
other archive tools. Cheers Walter

Are you sure there isn't another tar in the path before the one that
ships with eCS? I haven't found time to try any of the eCS 2 RCs, so I
can't cross-check.
