Trying to install rc4 on dell laptop. installed rc2 no problems with
/smp /fs standard mouse driver (amouse will not work with my logitech
trackball). In rc4 the mouse works in the setup but once the instal is
over does not work. Also is there a way to get the touchpad to work
(which driver in instal)? I show no errors on bootup.

RC4 installs AMOUSE as default mouse driver, check to ensure you did not
install Amouse by accident.

I've been using AMouse with a Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman for years.

I have a Toshiba laptop and all it takes is knowing what keyboard
combination turns the touchpad on and off. The same keyboard
combination works for both eCS and Windows. On my daughters HP, it was
a button located above the touchpad. Again this worked for both eCS and
Windows.

Even though you say you did not install the amouse driver, I would boot
to your maintenance menu at bootup (alt+f1) and then select boot to a
command prompt. At the command prompt, type tedit config.sys. Once the
config.sys is loaded, scroll down the cofig.sys and look for your mouse
driver. If you find

DEVICE=C:\ECS\SYSTEM\AMouse\AMOUSE.SYS

then the amouse driver was installed. If found, this could indicate
that the install routine failed to install the normal IBM driver that
you selected.

I made sure it was the standard mouse driver because amouse does not
seem to work with a logitech trackball.
