| RC4 installation fails |

I tried _reinstalling_ eComStation 2.0 RC4. The first time the
installation was uneventful (except that I found I could not install
using SNAP, but had to use VGA).
The second time, however, the install failed during phase two, when
eComCentre was created. I have tried to reinstall 8 or 9 times. Each
time I formatted the hard drive.
I have tried various installation settings. Including no acpi, no /!bios
for Dani's IDE driver.
I have tried various BIOS settings. All the recommended ones. And the
ones used in desparation (including setting PnP OS to yes).
I reinstalled ECS 1.2 That installation was uneventful. I am currently
running it.

Hardware? If the hardware does not currently require ACPI, I would
not install it (or even boot with it from the CD).

I've had problems with phase two on two computers. I don't remember though
if that concerned RC3 or RC4. Anyway I had to choose "do not install
APM"
during installation. The default is "automatic". You could give it a
try.

In the first line he already stated he installed WITHOUT acpi. My opinion
is that it has a lot has to do with the hard disk drivers and the
partitioning.
In my opinion only the last edition ecs20rc4 installed smoothly.
