| How to get file/print sharing working |

I have a router that has 4 systems on it. One running eCS. One running
Win98. And 2 running XP. I would like to configure these systems to do
file/print sharing amongst them. Can someone point me to the basic
pieces that I need to set up in eCS. I'm trying to wade through the
IBM/eCS docs and I'm finding it hard to know where to even start.
Something like a 'cookbook' would be great if there is such a thing.
Thanks,

The easiest way I would suggest is a cheap network print server. I
have one for myself and no problems to address three different
printers: a Laserjet, a Pixma IP5000 (via the USB port of the print
server) and an old Panasonic KXP 2400.
Using them with eCS, W2K, XP and Ubuntu.

I have a machine (T-Pad T60) running eCS 2.0 RCx and one (T-Pad T23)
running eCS 1.2R and W2K. Both are conected to my LinSys Router which
is connected to the ADSL D-Link modem supplied by my ISP. I move files
from the T60-eCS to the T23-W2K by sharing a drive on the T60 and then
using the file open command for the relevant app on the T23-W2K. e.g.
to print a *.PDF file from the T23 using Acrobat, I share the relevant
drive on the T60, start Acrobat and press <Ctrl-o> on the T23. I am
presented with an options "My Computer" and "My Network
Places". Choose
the second and proceed to work down to the file. I use ZTree for file
transfers. It has an option to "Log" a drive on the network.

If you look around, you'll find a few. The May 2004 VOICE newsletter
had an article on setting up home networking. Judy's Warped World had
a great step-by-step guide, but my link no longer works. OS/2 eZine
had a series called "OS/2 is boring", whose auther talked about
setting up a network.
