| about to re-instal RC4 |

My machine is a ThinkPad T60 model 2007-C4U with 1.5GB RAM. Before I
get my self into big trouble, any comments would be appreciated. (Of
course, a full system backup is to be done just prior to starting.)
I see Lenovo have issued some BIOS updates since I got my machine
including one that allows "do nothing" on closing the lid. I found
this
very useful on a laptop and it is missing from my T60. I plan to
install this before proceeding.
Problems with my current installation:
external USB 2 hard drives don't work. I probably did something wrong
on my previous install since they work fine on RC1.
My current RC4 has no sound support since attempts to include it
previously caused the system (ThinkPad T60) to hang shortly after boot.
Is there reason to hope the new release from Paul (080323) might work
on my sound chip (Intel Device 27D8h 82801G (ICH7 Family) High
Definition Audio)?

That's exactly what I want. Then I can at least close the lid when I
move it from one place to another.

The previous install used what was in the box. I gather that I need to
get the latest ACPI, UNIAUD32, UNIAUD16(?). Are there any others that
are more current than what comes with RC4?

Thanks.

Thanks. I am so looking forward to getting sound! :-) Ever try to edit
a video without it? :-(

Thanks, Carl. Where did you get the V116-AlSA? If I install RC4
without audio support, how do I install UNIAUD and V116-AlSA?

I have eCS 2.0 RC2 with ACPI 3.07 and its associate APM, et al. Even
before, with ACPI 3.03 I had no problems with USB Flash, USB readers
with xD cards and SD cards, and USB WD 250GB external drive.

Yesterday, I installed:
V116-AlSA on top of V114-RC5
NOTE: Do NOT use the 'Easter' release of the AISA,
use the 22-Mar-2008 level. The 23-Mar level
introduces problems.
on my TPad T60 [Audio as reported by PCI:

And, I can report, so far at least, very good success!!!!
YMMV...
