eShutdown

On my T60, I have the same settings in eShutdown in both RC1 and RC4.
The one in RC1 works fine but the one in RC4 gets as far as blanking the
screen and then sits there for at least several minutes. Any suggestions?

This may be related to ACPI. Setup eShutdown to use ACPI(?)

At the right end of the eCenter where the battery/plug sits in RC1 is
E87 in RC4. I guess this is Error #87 but I can find no list of error
messages.

Machine is a ThinlPad T60 (2007-C4U) running eCS 2.0 RC4.

I don't see anything on that page referencing 'eShutdown'. And, I don't
have time to carefully read every link on that page.

Frankly, the ACPI documentation is so fragmented across the various docs
that it is just confusing. What is required is a single doc that lists
all of the options with specific comments for each if they do/don't
apply or apply in a different way to SMP.

As pointed out in other NGs [e.g., UniAud], there are also conflicting
and or obsolete suggestions. [By 'obsolete' I mean: A recommendation
may have applied to an early ACPI, but has since proven to either not be
applicable or only apply in some circumstances.

My system is mostly working, but not 100% satisfactory. But, I'm afraid
to tinker with it for fear of screwing it into the floor. I an a USER
not an OS/2 systems programmer. I don't have the time, nor the
inclination to become other than a user.

Hate to thread jack, but this is related. How does one get the Reboot to..
to actually work?
