I have a T-Pad T60 with 2.0 RC4 installed. I have recently acquired a
Linksys WRT54G router to replace my current Linksys BEFSR41 Router
(wired-only). My two daughters also have the same wireless router.
The wireless appears to be correctly installed on my T60, at least, the
bluetooth and antenna leds show signs of life. Unfortunately the
Linksys manual simply tells one to use the ('doze install program on the
supplied CD) - not very useful. I would much appreciate some
instruction on how to install the router and get it (them) talking to my
T60. I have no experience with wireless networks.

[From memory; it's been a year or so since I've done this. So, expect
slight variations.]
* Attach your system to the router to a wired port.
* Point your browser to 192.168.1.1
* You should see a login screen.
* The 'User' can, I believe, be left blank.
The default password is most likely: 'admin' [See the User
Guide for the specifics.]
* At this point, I believe you will be seeing identical screens
to what the manual describes for the the 'Doze utility.
* The most important step: Be sure you change the password so
you to not open your net to outsiders.

Good luck.

Ted,
I have the same router. It's probably easiest to get it going first
wired, then wireless. You can do everything using your browser. Make
sure you can see the Internet through the router and your modem.
Linksys tech support [800-326-7114] was very helpful to me.

There are 4+1 ports on the back. The single port that is by itself goes to
the internet. The other 4 are the same as a hub. So in the above comment,
use one of the 4 that are together.

It's in the manual or you can google for default login of the wrt54g. I
*think* it is admin/admin. If you didn't buy a new one and have problems
accessing 192.168.1.1 then you can reset it to factory defaults. Press the
tiny button on the back and hold in for 3-5 seconds (it's between an antenna
& the internet port).
Each page has a help menu that you can use.

Another important point, if you wish, is the change the default SSID (I think
it is linksys). Change it and then turn off SSID broadcast. You should make
your initial setup and proof that the system works before you turn off the
SSID or you might have problems setting it up. Once it is working you can
turn off the SSID and that makes it slightly more secure.
When setting up wireless security, choose WPA2, it is the most secure.

Jon
