Hi Folks,
Is there an easy/simple way of handling WMV files under Seamonkey, or
do I need something "extra" (IE a 3rd party app)?

How about media player connectivity? Does it work in Seamonkey? Its a FF
add on.
You don't need to download and save, just use any mediaplayer you want.

Couldn't mplayer be set up as a helper app? Even if not directly,
how about using the .cmd script that I use on my desktop for
playing such files?
