| Hard Drive? |

Hi,
I was having misc problems that I could not isolate to either memory or
a hard drive. Finally just got a new system with all new hardware. The
old system had the following hard drives:
Western Digital WD600-JB 60Gb mfg in 2003
IBM Deskstar 80 Gb Mfg in 2002
I have an external case with a USB interface that I can use for one of
the above. Any suggestions as to which might be more reliable? I don't
need the extra 20Gb space since I also have a Maxtor 300Gb external
drive for backup purposes.
Thanks,

Thanks for the vote of confidence in my hard drive selections! I would
appreciate some advice on what hard drive manufacturer is reliable.

Neither. Junk them both and get something reliable before your data bites
the dust.

Seagate, Seagate, Seagate, or Seagate.

Thanks to all for the advice.
Since both the IBM and WD were in the system that was having problems I
gave both away with the system. I warned the fellow about the random
problems in the system. He will probably never run into a problem. Since
I now only need a drive for external backup use I will look into Seagate
and Samsung drives. I did not know that Samsung made hard drives. Learn
something new every day.
A Happy New Year to all!
