Resequencing Trays in eCenter?

Resequencing Trays in eCenter?
Fri, 18 Apr 2008 17:59:40 -040
The trays in eCenter are sequenced in the order they were created.

Is there any way to resequence these trays other than deleting all of
the trays and recreating them in a new sequence?

This seems like a relatively simple request, but I have no idea if it is
a simple or reasonable request. Anyone have any knowledge of how this
can be done?

I think you misunderstand what I want to move.

I want to resequence the individual trays in the Trays Widget. I'm not
trying to move the entire set of trays somewhere else in the eCenter bar.

When I look in the eCenter Properties, I see a line in the Classes and
in Widgets for 'Tray.' But, there is nothing that I can detect that is
the name of a specific tray within the Trays widget. Thus, there is
nothing to drag and nowhere to drop. The left side of the 'Trays' is a
drop-down list of the trays. What I'd like to do is reorder the items
in that list. The reason I want to do this is to have multiple systems
with the same list. That will make it easier, more explicit, to say to
someone using one of the other systems: "Click the Trays drop down and
select the third item, "Editors and Word Processors"... Sure, they
should be able to just read the list. It also makes it easier when
moving from one system to another to quickly see where the desired list
item is located.

Drag 'n drop. If you can't do it on the XCenter window, open its Properties

No.
I think this is still something that could be added to the Todo list for
xCenter/eCenter Tray plugin.

Beware that the current widgets set (and their settings) is stored in
OS2.INI. If one of the widgets or more is lost (following an INI cleanup or
corruption for example), you have no way to get it back at the place it was
and with its settings. You'll then have to restore a recently backed up
OS2.INI.
Being able to save a complete xCenter set would be neat.

Have a nice weekend.
