| Requestor fails to start |

Hi All,
I am running eCS2.0rc1 on a Gateway laptop. With the new ACPI ver. 3 I have
finally manged to get
all hardware working... including the WiFi. I am able to browse the Internet
(with the WiFi), but I cannot
log on to my WSeB LAN.... when I try I get the message 'LAN requestor could not
be started'. MPTS
has TCP/IP and NetBIOS over TCP/IP attached to the GenMAC driver for the WiFi.
If I plug into the
ethernet I can log on to the LAN no problem.
Can anyone give me any ideas what might cause this?
Regards,
Dave McKenna

I don't know about WSeB, but regular OS/2 uses netbios, as contributors to
these forums have explained it to me. Netbios over tcpip is for
connecting with 'doze and such.

I am able to connect to the WSeB LAN server with this computer by Netbios over
TCP/IP if I am
attached to the network by ethernet cable. If there is no cable and I try to log
on while using the WiFi
(which IS connected to the network at least via TCP/IP) I get the requestor
error. Help for the error
isn't very helpful - help for net2186 says 'The service is not responding to the
control function' - then
'try again later'...??
My gut tells me it may be a setting in the Netbios over TCP/IP parameters, or
in the *.inf file for the
GenMAC WiFi driver, but my guts have been wrong before. I'm just looking for
ideas what to look
for....

I thought maybe that was it, but LANTRAN.LOG ends with:
IBM OS/2 LAN Netbind
WRND32$ WRAPPER for bus: 0 slot: 12 Vendor: 0x14E4 Device: 0x4320.
WRND32$ load SYS: "BCMWL5.SYS" length: 424320 CRC: 0x830b / 0xd048.
WRND32$ load INF: "BCMWL5.INF" length: 1739.
WRND32$ WRAPPER hardware init successfull MAC : 00904B:8F2983.
WRND32$ bound to "TCPIP_NIF".
TCPBEUI: Logical adapter 0 is trying to bind to TCP/IP interface lan0.
TCPBEUI: Logical adapter 1 is trying to bind to TCP/IP interface lan1.
TCPBEUI: Logical adapter 1 is bound to TCP/IP interface lan1.
Doesn't that look like it is bound properly to lan1 (which is the WiFi card)?
Or is there more to it...
