Check the capitalization of the user/id. I've had the least grief by using
all caps for both on both machines. AIR, OS/2 is case insensitive and
sends the id and password as caps regardless of how you set it up.

I have a PC running windows vista ultimate and one running EComStation 2.0
rc2. When I use explorer to connect to my Maxtor drive connected to the
EComStation machine I can see everything if I logon to Vista with and
account that is not also on the EComStation machine. I assume it is using
the guest account with no password. But when I logon to the vista machine
with an account that is also on the EComStation machine that has admin
access I can not authenticate. It just tells me check that your user name
and password are correct. I am sure the user name and password are correct
because I can use them to logon to the ecomstation machine to share files.
Does anyone have any idea how to get the password authentication to work?
