| Window frame dissapeared since |
 |
Fri, 07 Dec 2007 16:26:02 GMT |
Hi, the window frames disappeared since one of the latest updates of
opensuse 10.3.
I disabled the desktop effects, but then I couldn't change the screen
resolution from 1024x768 (in the resolution changer control panel). The
resolution was ok in the sax2 application (1280x800, 24 bit, 15.4 inch,
16/10 aspect ratio).
The effects of everything were weird. I mean, the login screen were in
a 1024x768 area in the left side of the screen, and once logged in, the
panel didn't expand to fill all the screen. But the apps seemed to be
ok, and the wallpaper filled the entire screen. The window frames were
back.
Then I re-enabled the desktop effects, all was ok after one reboot.
After a couple reboots, the window frames have disappeared again.
By the way, my video card is an Intel 945, (the machine is a laptop hp
nx7400).
Any help? Please.
Regards.
Jesus.

Hi
Have a read here; http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz_Fusion
But I would assume you need to run; gtk-window-decorator --replace

It happens after every reboot.
Why and how to avoid that?
Thanks a lot.

Hi
The link I gave you tells you what to do for this in section Plugins
and Decorator Configuration :-)
Use compizconfig-settings-manager, a GUI plugin configuration tool. It
can be launched with the command ccsm or find it in your menu under
Utillities -> Desktop.
Change the preference backend to flat-file. Add your preferred window
decorator command under 'decoration' plugin. Depending on what packages
you have installed, the decorator commands available are :
gtk-window-decorator --replace
