i'm new linux...
when i press the delete button on my keyboard to delete files, gnome
will not respond with a confirmation dialog. Although those deleted
files automatically moved to trash, i want a confirmation dialog
appears to confirm delete action.
BTW, there is no problem in KDE.
How to configure it in gnome?

By default there's no configmation dialog to show up when you do a delete.
Should you however do a Shift+Del to permanently delete a file you get a
confirmation dialog.

Niclas Ekstedt,
Checking up on this a bit more, it looks like you're out of luck.
It's possible to get a confirmation dialog before emptying trash or
permanently deleting a file (shift+del), but just to get a confirmation
before deleting anything to trash, is not :-(
AFAICT, there are discussions on adding this feature to Nautilus, however
how far that's gone I don't know.
There are ways around this though, not in Nautilus, but you could for
example use gnome-commander or konqueror that has this feature.
