Icon Area of Desktop Missing After Update

Icon Area of Desktop Missing After Update
Fri, 22 Feb 2008 13:06:03 GMT
Hi, I installed all updates (openSUSE10.3) and now after restart the
main desktop area (part with icons and wallpaper) is missing. Menu and
panels are available and working. I got this dialog after logging:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------
There was an error starting GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not
work correctly.
The last error message was:
Launch helper exited with unknown return code 127
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next tome you log
in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------

Any idea how to fix this? Thx.
