Evolution: no connection to Exchange-Server after upgrade

Hello,
i have just upgraded my evolution on SuSE 10.1 using GNOME-repository
'Index of /repositories/GNOME:/STABLE/SUSE_Linux_10.1'
(http://tinyurl.com/5rasvr)
with YaST / System Update

old: evolution 2.10
new: evolution 2.12

Now it is not possible to connect to our exchange server.
We are using Exchange-Server 2003

I then tried to delete directories
~/.gconf/apps/evolution
~/evolution
and do a new installation/configuration

The configuration-wizard says:
"Legitimation am Server gescheitert.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass Benutzername und Passwort korrekt sind und
versuchen Sie es erneut."

This means username/password is wrong.

But it is correct !

Whats going wrong ?

2.10 worked fine for me. How can i get it back, if this problem cannot
be solved ?


Another problem. When starting evolution within a shell this error
comes up:
"Gtk2-qt-engine Missing, error-message: Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to
locate theme engine in module"

The package "gtk2-qt-engine" can not be found anywhere.
Where can i get it from ?

did you update the evolution exchange connector aswell ?

Then i started
YaST / Software update and upgrade

Doing so YaST installed all available software with the latest
release.

Before doing this evolution 2.10.x worked fine, but now evolution
2.12.x (and its counterparts) don't.

On the evolution-homepage is release 2.22. available.
When can we get it from the openSuSE repository ?

for what its worth here is a list of actual repositories:

'Additional YaST Package Repositories - openSUSE'
(http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories)

do you have the correct login and password function in evolution set ? 

I have not tested the evolution => exchange function for quite some
time does it still use the connect to owa for exchange ? Is this all
set up correctly on both sides ? 

if that is all set correctly have you tried running a tcpdump or
sniffing with wireshark ? 

if all else fails you could maybe try building the newest version from
source? I thought 10.1 support / updates  are eof ? or soon will be ?

As i already mentioned, evolution 2.10 worked fine. The problems began
with 2.12. Yes username/password i entered were correct. A crosscheck
with the browser was successful.

Yes, but you can't see the password. The communication with the server
works (in principle).

It will be eol soon. Thats why i want it to be updated with the latest
available patches.

I think about upgrading to a newer distribution. On the other hand, if
this is the only working solution, i would prefer to migrate from SuSE
to Ubuntu.
