Network Setup During Installation Doesn't Work

Network Setup During Installation Doesn't Work
Wed, 26 Mar 2008 23:56:02 GMT
So, I just downloaded opensuse and burned it to a disc using DVD
Decrypter. I followed all the installation instructions just as it said
to and got to the network setup part when I started encountering
problems. It detects both of my network cards (ethernet and wireless),
but it won't connect to the internet. No matter what! I HAVE to be able
to use the ethernet card. I tried DHCP but it just gives me an error
message saying it can't receive the info needed (IP, subnet mask, DNS
IP, etc...) and when I put in static stuff, it gets to the "testing
internet connection" part and then gives me an error message saying
that it can't resolve the host at 'SUSE Linux Enterprise'
(http://www.suse.com) and that it has timed out. Obviously I'm not even
getting an internet connection with that computer, but on this computer
(which is running off of wifi from that computer) I connect to the
internet just fine. This is really making me angry because I've spent
the last 2 hours trying to get this to work. I guess I just don't have
enough Linux knowledge to solve this on my own. Someone pleeeaasssee
help me.
