shutdown from crontab after sync job

shutdown from crontab after sync job
Thu, 10 Apr 2008 10:56:02 GMT
I need a help

OS is opensuse 10.3

I created a crontab script which is running RSYNC. Like last line in
the script I put "shutdown -hP 1 shutdown".

Everithing is going fine with rsync, but there is no shutdown, also
there is no any log about.

Also i try with "poweroff" and "init 6" - with same result.

Actualy - if i manuali execute a script with ./sync-script - computer
is going down regularu - but if the script is executed with crontab
(root job) sync is going well, but there is no shutdown.

Can anyone help me. This backup machine is running in the power
sensitive area where only overnight is 100% present power and sistem
need to function automaticaly because is holding sensitive data.

Sorry on my bad englesh.
Thanks

Vanja,

Is the shutdown in the script, or is it in crontab?

Please post the content here.

vanja,

Be sure to supply the whole path for the shutdown command,
'/sbin/shutdown'
