| KDE4.X - What a pain |

I played with KDE4 on openSUSE 10.3, and I hated it, but I understood that
it wasn't really integrated into SUSE and was incomplete/
So, I've installed openSUSE 11.0 Alpha 2 with the integrate KDE 4.0.1
desktop and I cannot format this pig and put 10.3 back on soon enough.
I can't believe that the folks that developed the really nice, clean fast
KDE3 desktop think this is an improvement. Everything is mac wannabe as
far as I can tell. I have a $1700 MacBook that I hardly ever turn on
because I find using it to be so frustrating.
I can't create a simple folder-tree/file list display in dolphin and
konqueror won't even let me try.
I seem to be stuck with the new style menu display, which I could revert
to something usable in KDE3.
The settings menus seemed to be dumbed down to th point where there
doesn't seem to be much point in opening them. (Did I mention mac wannabe...?)
Also, all the cute visual and sound effects seem to drag response to a
crawl. (64bit AMD, 2GB RAM 256MB NVidia.)
This so bad it's starting to make Gnome look good.
If there's a guide anywhere that can tell me how to make this desktop
usable, I would be truly grateful to hear about it. Otherwise I'm stuck
with living with the current version of KDE3 for as long as it will still
work with my apps and hardware.
